Tom Collins looks for heavy-ground course form for his Leicester Placepot perm

With GoingStick readings of 3.8 (chase) and 3.1 (hurdle), the ground on both tracks at Leicester looks sure to be bottomless. With that in mind, course specialists who are adept in heavy ground must be included in your Placepot perms.

A two-time winner on soft who bounced back to form when last seen at Plumpton, Twenty Twenty can get punters off to a good start in the 2m novice handicap chase (1.10). Jack Valentine is also chosen after a creditable fifth here last time.

The following 2m4½f selling hurdle (1.40) looks unquestionably weak with little strength in depth. That being the case, ten-year-old Goodbye Dancer is banked on to hit the frame in first-time cheekpieces.

You need the winner of the Listed mares' chase (2.10) to progress and only three of the four stand a chance on ratings. Selecting the trio would not be frowned upon, although I'll stick with proven quantities Cut The Mustard and Zambella.

Course-and-distance winner Fil D'Ariane has strong claims in leg four (2.40) as does heavy ground specialist Oscars Leader, who rarely finishes out of the frame.

Lickpenny Larry ran a sound race on his last visit to Leicester and he is a strong selection in the penultimate contest (3.10). Recent scorer Relkadam also strikes as a horse ahead of his mark.

If you are still in after five legs you will be afforded a sigh of relief as No Risk Des Flos looks a banker for place purposes in the closing 1m7½f novice hurdle (3.40).
