Tom Collins analyses the credentials of three favourites in the US

D R C's Arm Candy
9.45 Will Rogers Downs
SP forecast 8-5

Speedy filly who represents top trainer Scott E Young and leading rider Ty Kennedy. Winless in eight starts but has put up improved speed figures recently and is knocking on the door with four runner-up finishes to her name. Has the best form in the book but is drawn in gate 12 and will need to get across.

Conclusion Best in the race if able to lead but not a banker from that draw.

Mr Big Shot
10.27 Fonner Park
SP forecast 2-1

Three-year-old gelding who lost his maiden tag at the fifth attempt with a decisive eight-and-a-quarter-length success over 6f at this track last month. Couldn't dominate when upped to stakes company last time but finished a good second behind a talented rival.

Conclusion Drops in class but not guaranteed to get to the front. Wouldn't be rushing to back him.

Nocturnal Mission
11.15 Will Rogers Downs
SP forecast 2-1

A $200,000 purchase as a two-year-old, Nocturnal Mission looked very useful when landing a maiden special weight contest on debut but hasn't built on that promise with just two wins from 21 subsequent starts. Runner-up on debut at this track before sauntering home last time.

Conclusion Couldn't have been more impressive when last seen and can follow up.
