It’s possible that 1m2f may have stretched his stamina at such an early stage of his career, and the drop to a stiff mile looks firmly in his favour.

Ralph Beckett sends just one runner on the long trip north, and it’s unlikely he has any concerns about soft ground otherwise he surely wouldn't have declared Mount Moriah.
