Tizzard's Vision can put in a grand performance off workable mark

Lingfield

Delface (3.30) looked in need of the run when down the field at Leicester two weeks ago and could bounce back in the finale.

The four-year-old ended a spell in Ireland with a win at Wexford last March and was never headed when making his debut for David Pipe at Ffos Las in May, coming home three and a half lengths clear. It looked as if this longer trip would suit that day and he has the potential for better now the cobwebs have been blown away.

Grand Vision (3.00) missed all of 2016, but he showed the ability remains early this year in hunter chases, winning at Warwick in January and picking up minor honours on two other occasions, including a second to Pacha Du Polder at Bangor in February.

The Cheltenham Foxhunter proved beyond him last time out, but he has enjoyed a long holiday to recharge the batteries and returns to handicap company with a very workable mark.

Gary Moore has several runners on this card and is unlikely to leave empty-handed, with Ar Mest (1.00) perhaps his best chance. The four-year-old was a 33-1 shot for his debut at Ascot recently but showed promise in fifth. This looks a much easier assignment.

Southwell

Eyesopenwideawake (12.50) can complete a hat-trick in the 2m handicap chase.

The six-year-old won a novice hurdle here in June on his debut for Harry Whittington and showed that fences were no barrier to success at Kempton last month when he raced enthusiastically in the lead and stayed on strongly to win by a length and three quarters.

A 5lb higher mark won’t stop him if can produce a similar display here and he is preferred to Cracking Find.

Doctor Dex (3.20) sets the standard in the bumper.

Tom George’s charge briefly looked as though he would justify market support on his recent debut when leading into the final furlong, but he couldn’t quite match the speed shown by Strong Glance.

He should have learned from that and even minimal progress would make him hard to beat in a race of this nature.

Weebill is bred to be useful and looks the best of the newcomers.

Wolverhampton

Unforgiving Minute (3.10) has been unbeatable since dropping into claimers and should complete the hat-trick.

He finished down the field in a couple of handicaps this year but returned from a two-month layoff with victory over course and distance in September before another win at Lingfield last month, showing a fine turn of foot.

John Butler’s gelding has to concede weight all round but his class can see him come out on top.
