Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a recent gelding operation . . .

Trainer form

Pamper
7.50 Thirsk
Angle: James Fanshawe has been operating at a 26 per cent strike-rate over the last two weeks

James Fanshawe has saddled five winners from his last 19 runners and could improve that strike-rate with Cheveley Park's Pamper in this mile novice contest.

The daughter of Lethal Force has finished third on both her starts to date, but the form of her last run has worked out well given the winner has followed up since.

A step up in trip should pose no problems and, with more experience under her belt, she can go close this evening under PJ McDonald.

Ratings

Jackhammer
7.00 Carlisle
Angle: holds the joint-top Racing Post Rating

Dianne Sayer's consistent five-year-old was an easy winner over course and distance last time out and, given the ground was heavy that day, should have no problems coping with tonight's soft going.

Despite going up 7lb for that effort, the son of Thewayyouare is in good form of late and it may not be enough to prevent him following up.

Wild card

In Demand
9.00 Carlisle
Angle: first run since a gelding operation

Charlie Fellowes's In Demand makes his first start since being gelded last October and bids to improve on his previous unplaced efforts.

Fellowes, who has saddled three winners in the last two weeks, has a 17 per cent strike-rate with horses who are running for the first time after undergoing the operation.
