The perceived wisdom is that the non-runner no bet concession is a good thing for punters but I'm far from convinced it is any help to people who like to bet seriously on Cheltenham around now.

Take the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase, for example. The supposed concession has simply allowed the bookmakers to cut the prices of most of the runners and, all of a sudden, Galopin Des Champs is as low as evens and Bravemansgame is 11-4.
