Still a maiden after 11 starts, but five first-three finishes illustrate he has the ability to win a Class 5 race like this and he has looked in need of today's 1m2f distance on several occasions this season.

Brendan Powell's gelding stayed on well when second over 1m½f at Epsom in July and to finish third on Bath's stiff finish over a mile in August. He was then nearest at the finish when sixth at Pontefract two runs ago – another track with an uphill finish.
