The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Wednesday
GOOD THING
In The Red(11.30 Lingfield)
It's not often I play the first race of the day (becomes a long afternoon if it loses) but Martin Smith's In The Red is certainly worth a wager now back on the all-weather, off a mark 7lb lower than when last successful and with blinkers refitted. All those factors could see In The Red smashed up in the market with plenty of his opponents falling in the 'disappointing' category. His recent efforts over longer trips can be ignored as he clearly hasn't stayed well and his draw in stall seven looks perfect.
BANKER
Misty Whisky (3.20 Ludlow)
Lovely-looking Stowaway filly who was well supported on her racecourse debut at Aintree last month and ran a cracker to finish second to one with plenty of experience. Got outpaced that day but stayed on powerfully close to home and will definitely come on for the run. Although there are a lot more runners in this race than on her debut, it looks an easier task and although there is the unknown of Paul Nicholls's well-bred Ellarna, I'd say Misty Whisky is the bet of the week at around 2-1.
