The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Tuesday
BANKER
Dubawi Fifty(5.35 Newcastle)
Karen McLintock's five-year-old has improved rapidly since winning off a mark of 79 in an Ayr handicap in July and can take his tally to five wins from his last six starts if landing Newcastle's opening contest. Now racing off 17lb higher than that victory at Ayr, Dubawi Fifty seems to be better the further they go and landed a 0-105 handicap over this trip at Wolverhampton when last seen. He was sent off the 10-11 favourite that day and galloped strongly to the line, suggesting there was much more to come off marks in the 90s.
EYECATCHER
Christmas In Usa (4.45 Wetherby)
Despite being winless in 22 career starts, Christmas In Usa has the ability to score in this level and, despite going up 6lb for his runner-up effort at this course last month, today could be the day. Having raced prominently, he stayed on well in the heavy ground – conditions he seems to relish – and beat all bar one of eight rivals. The winner has since gone close off 9lb higher and Christmas In Usa, who gets first-time blinkers, should finally get off the mark under Grant Cockburn.
