DARK HORSE

Rose Berry (1.40 Lingfield)

I really like this hardy three-year-old filly and was left cursing when she didn't have the best of runs in finishing fifth at Kempton under today's rider Nicola Currie at the end of last month. She's been left on the same mark and has scored on both her starts at this course. Her draw in stall two looks perfect and despite it being a competitive contest, she can go well at a price.

EYECATCHER

Courtlands Prince (1.30 Southwell)

Obviously had his problems as he's only had 16 runs despite being an eight-year-old, but was in fine form from marks in the low 100s in 2016 and he has been dropped 6lb by the handicapper since his seasonal reappearance when being pulled up. He was a real eyecatcher last time out when third behind two very useful horses for the grade – the fourth, who he beat comprehensively, has won twice since – and he goes on all kinds of ground.
