The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Tuesday
BANKER
Ripp Orf(3.45 Yarmouth)
Having solely raced on the all-weather in seven career starts, it's taken on trust that this four-year-old will be able to produce his best on turf, especially given there will be some give in the ground, but he has the form in the book to take this prize and should prove too good. The son of Rip Van Winkle has been well punted on more than one occasion in four starts this year, but with form figures of 2122, he's proved slightly frustrating for backers. However, he's bumped into some useful types, including subsequent winner Mordin when last seen, and a return to handicap company looks ideal. A mark of 82 looks lenient given further progression.
GOOD THING
Red Tea (3.35 Nottingham)
Peter Hiatt's five-year-old mare was a bit in-and-out last season but returned from her winter break with a cracking effort in Class 2 company at Newmarket's Craven meeting and should take all the beating here. Having travelled like a dream in the 19-runner handicap, she just found one too good in the shape of the well-handicapped Examiner, but was over a length clear of her other rivals and could have actually taken the contest had Luke Morris not dropped his whip inside the final furlong. She drops back to Class 3 company – and tackles her own sex – here and can run off a 2lb lower mark after Finley Marsh's claim is taken into consideration.
