The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Tuesday
BANKER
San Benedeto(2.05 Exeter)
Paul Nicholls and Bryony Frost have started the season in fine form and San Benedeto, who was given a warmup in a Listed hurdle at Kempton just over two weeks ago, should now be in prime condition to land this Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup. An extremely talented seven-year-old, this former Grade 1 winner ran consistently throughout last season without getting his head in front, but he did finish runner-up on three occasions and is well up to taking this prize, especially given his two classiest rivals lack a recent run.
GOOD THING
Pretty Jewel (8.00 Kempton)
This mare has had a cracking season for trainer Ian Williams, recording four wins from eight starts and rising 20lb in the weights. She is holding her form really well and was far from disgraced in Class 2 company the last twice, when beaten by a couple of useful horses. Dropped in grade, Pretty Jewel bids to continue her fine run with a first-time victory on the all-weather at Kempton. She is 0-5 on the synthetic surface, but those runs came for former trainers earlier in her career and she seemed to handle it well enough.
