The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Sunday
BANKER
Sioux Nation(4.15 Naas)
Aidan O'Brien won this Group 3 Lacken Stakes last year with Caravaggio and looks to have a great chance of following up this year with Sioux Nation, who can put his reappearance fourth behind him. The son of Scat Daddy proved he was a Group 1-level colt last year with victory in the Phoenix Stakes in August, as well as winning the Norfolk at Royal Ascot on his previous start. Although he disappointed in the Middle Park on his last start in 2017 and only finished in midfield last month on his comeback in Listed company, he'll come on a lot for that and the return to quicker conditions is perfect. He has form figures of 2111 on ground described as good or quicker.
EYECATCHER
Gurkha Friend(3.30 Ripon)
Karen McLintock has her yard in fantastic form and this six-year-old, who has been running below-par since landing this race last year, now competes off a mark 7lb lower and looks ready to strike following an encouraging reappearance. Gurkha Friend's last four victories have come on good ground or quicker and you can excuse his efforts in the autumn when the ground had gone for him. He was beaten some way out on reappearance run at Newcastle, but he has never gone with much zest on the all-weather and the seven furlong trip was far from perfect that day. He now looks ready to strike under Silvestre de Sousa and, although he faces a couple of in-form rivals, his class can tell.
