The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Sunday
BIG-RACE BANKER
Anthony Van Dyck(4.15 Curragh)
Aidan O'Brien has won this race five times in the last ten years, normally with extremely useful juveniles which have included Churchill, Gleneagles and Mastercraftsman. He trains more than half the field this time around and the number one hope is definitely Anthony Van Dyck, who bids to rack up his fourth victory in a row. I'm not quite sure why Quorto is favourite on the forecasts as surely this son of Galileo, who has been impressive in his victories, holds the best form. His easy victory in the Group 3 Tyros Stakes on his penultimate start suggested he was a top class performer in the making, and he can prove that here under Ryan Moore.
EYECATCHER
Muthmir (5.20 Longchamp)
Stephane Wattel's City Light is undoubtedly the best horse in this race, but the drop back from 6½f to 5f is a bit worrying – he may well get outpaced – and he has to give 3lb or more to his rivals. Consequently it could pay to stick with William Haggas's Muthmir, who has run well on all four starts in France, will appreciate the way the race is run and maintains a lot of his ability despite being an eight-year-old. He ran an extremely good race in first-time blinkers (retained) at Goodwood last time and has been freshened up for this.
