EYECATCHER

Paper Lantern(5.15 Limerick)

This is by no means a good race and isn't one I'd normally play in, but with the majority of the runners looking bang out of form, it could be worth a punt on Paper Lantern. The nine-year-old is clearly the best horse in the race but has to lump around a welter burden of 11st 10lb (once Donie McInerney's claim is factored in) and it will be by no means plain sailing. However, he ran well to finish fourth in a handicap hurdle on his penultimate start before finishing third in a better race at Naas when last seen. He stayed on powerfully to the line that day and conditions are set to suit.
