GOOD THING

Taxmeifyoucan (2.25 Kelso)

This competitive contest looks likely to be won by a young gun, with both Taxmeifyoucan and Nietzsche fitting the bill. Although the latter looks well handicapped on last year's exploits, my preference goes to Taxmeifyoucan, who makes just his fourth hurdles start for Keith Dalgleish. The four-year-old, who has won both completed starts and may not have been suited by Hexham when unseating at the last when looking beaten, has been awarded a handicap mark of 130 and may have been underestimated. The form of his last success has worked out incredibly well and the second, who he beat by over two lengths, has since gone on to win a Grade 3 by seven lengths and is now rated 136. Therefore Taxmeifyoucan looks well treated off this mark and should prove too good for his rivals.

EYECATCHER

Stonific (8.15 Wolverhampton)

Although he hasn't seemed to relish the all-weather in two starts for David O'Meara, he may have still be acclimatising to British racing having moved from Andre Fabre's stable over the Christmas period. He's improved for every start and went close to getting off the mark for his new yard when runner-up at Doncaster last time out. He travelled like a really talented horse that day and, although he couldn't fend off Archippos, he pulled three lengths clear of the third. He's up 3lb for that but that shouldn't be a worry as he's still well handicapped. The only issue is that he tends to hang left when put under pressure, although hopefully he'll be clear by that point.
