Praxidice (3.50 Newmarket)

Unexposed types are the key to finding the winner of most sales races and I'd be shocked if Karl Burke and the Ontoawinner partnership hadn't targeted this valuable prize a while back with Praxidice. A 16,000gns purchase as a yearling, this daughter of Toronado impressed when hacking up by three lengths on debut at Carlisle last month on soft ground, and looked to have plenty more in the locker. Quicker conditions here will suit and she has a lovely racingweight of just 8st 4lb on her back. The only slight doubt is the draw, but providing that doesn't work against her, she should go very close to maintaining her unbeaten record.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Raising Sand(3.35 Ascot)

This is another tough race to pick apart and younger sprinters have done well in this contest in recent years, but I'm pretty sure Raising Sand will bang there at the finishing line and he's now handicapped to win a race of this nature. Jamie Osborne's six-year-old was prolific earlier in his career over a mile, but has struggled of late and is now winless in his last seven starts. However, his mark has been dropping slowly and he showed a sign of revival last weekend in the Cambridgeshire when finishing well to take eighth despite racing on the wrong side of the track. That was the first time Nicola Currie has ridden him (retains the ride) and he's been dropped a further 2lb for that effort. He was third in this race last year and loves the track.
