The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Friday

EYECATCHER

Titus(3.00 Doncaster)

Highly thought of by previous connections Dermot Weld and Khalid Abdullah, given he was sent into a Listed race on the back of his sole maiden victory. He disappointed in that contest and his other two runs for the powerful duo, but has been progressive this year since moving to Declan Carroll for 47,000gns in the winter and fairly blitzed 17 rivals on his first start over 1m4f at York last time out. Having been backed before the race, Titus travelled like a dream throughout and put the race to bed in a handful of strides, running away to win by an easy four lengths. Judged on that effort, he's well worth a go at this longer trip and although he's up 11lb in the weights, there could be a lot more to come. He looks a good each-way bet.

GOOD THING

(1.50 Doncaster)

Andrew Balding's five-year-old mare went down as one of the unluckiest losers at Glorious Goodwood earlier this year. She found absolutely no room at a crucial stage in the competitive Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes, but ran on powerfully once a gap opened and was only beaten a neck at the line. The form of that race is working out extremely well – third has since filled the same berth in a Saratoga Grade 2, fourth and 11th came home first and second in a Group 3 at Tipperary and the fifth has won a Listed race at Longchamp. Given that she would have come out on top, she is definitely worth sticking with in this company and although ratings don't suggest it, I think she should be favourite.
