BANKER

Wells Gold (3.00 Market Rasen)

Didn't show much in his first five starts under rules for Fergal O'Brien but, after being heavily punted into 3-1 second favourite in a novices' handicap hurdle at Fontwell, he duly got off the mark when staying on well to land the prize by half a length. He has been raised 6lb for that victory, but he's still unexposed and looks to have further improvement in him.

GOOD THING

Petticoat Tails(1.00 Wincanton)

I really liked this Presenting mare last season, when she recorded form figures of 1123 in bumpers (the placed efforts coming in Listed and Graded company). She's a proper staying mare and this step up to 2m5½f is certain to suit her. I'd imagine Warren Greatrex will have her relatively fit and she clearly goes well fresh. She faces two decent performers in Just A Thought and Midnight Tune, but hopefully she can prove too good.

DARK HORSE

Pass The Cristal(7.30 Chelmsford)

William Muir's three-year-old has proven frustrating this year but finally repaid loyal followers when handsomely taking a course-and-distance handicap last time out at odds of 16-1. The strong-travelling gelding won that with plenty to spare and seems to thrive when finding trouble. He's not the easiest horse to ride but Dougie Costello knows him well and, if they go a decent pace, he should have a good chance of following up.
