The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Thursday

Nicky Henderson: 'As far as the future of the industry is concerned I see no light at the end of the tunnel and fail to see how this issue is going to get better.'

BANKER

Lust For Glory(2.25 Newbury)

This is probably just about the strongest mares' novices' hurdle I've seen at the start of November in recent years, but I've been waiting for Nicky Henderson to unleash his extremely highly-regarded Lust For Glory and she is set to make her seasonal reappearance here. Having dotted up in a point-to-point, Lust For Glory travelled like a good horse on her first start for Henderson at Ascot in February, but paid for pulling hard early on and eventually got done for speed and finished third. She made amends on better ground at Ludlow in May, when bursting away from 15 rivals to run out a comfortable winner. She's sure to have progressed over the summer and, although she will be better for the run, it wouldn't surprise me if she went in at the first time of asking.

GOOD THING

Glendevon(6.45 Chelmsford)

Perhaps my favourite horse in training on the Flat (toss up between Glendevon and Stradivarius), the Richard Hughes-trained Glendevon looks set to return to winning ways now dropped into handicap company. Partnered by Jamie Spencer, the gorgeous-looking chestnut should get a nice run of things out in front before putting his electric turn of foot to good use and clearing away from his rivals. He's a better horse on the all-weather than turf and Hughes has been in fantastic form lately (20 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight).

EYECATCHER

Ready And Able(2.55 Newbury)

Jonjo O'Neill's five-year-old showed tiny bits of promise in novice and maiden hurdles around this time last year before having a five-month break in the spring. He obviously matured and progressed a lot in that time as he has returned in fine condition, winning all three handicap starts since and shooting up 24lb in the weights. However, he is allowed to compete here off a mark of 125, 9lb lower than his official rating of 134, and carries just 10st 3lb after O'Neill jnr's 5lb claim comes into consideration. He's so well treated that despite the big step up in grade, he should be able to record his four-timer. The trip and ground won't be a problem.
