BANKER

City Dreamer(8.45 Chelmsford)

Alan King's four-year-old remains extremely well handicapped on the Flat off a mark of 67, given his hurdle rating is 134, and, although he was beaten off 2lb lower on his return to this code in February, he was caught out when the pace quickened and was never in with a chance to catch the runaway winner Author's Dream. There's nothing of his quality in this contest and connections will no doubt be disappointed if he didn't make amends.

EYECATCHER

Adams Park(4.50 Wolverhampton)

Roger Varian has a 26 per cent strike-rate at Wolverhampton (44-172, +£19.92) and his only runner at the track, Adams Park, looks to have a good chance of adding to his already impressive record. The son of Mastercraftsman will need to sort out his issues at the start as he has been tardily away on all four starts to date, but he has a lot of ability and a mark of 81 could quite easily have underestimated him. Gelded since his last run, he now takes a big leap up in trip to tackle this 1m4f handicap and that could bring about further improvement with stamina throughout his pedigree.

GOOD THING

Dougan(3.15 Wolverhampton)

Dropped down to 0-90 company, Dougan, who is now rated 10lb below his last winning mark, can capitalise for trainer David Evans against what look inferior rivals. He posted some nice runs on the turf last season – notably when second at Doncaster in June and fifth in the Sky Bet Dash at York the following month off higher marks – which is eyecatching given he has proved he's much better on the all-weather (6-17) than he is on grass (0-16). He returned to action in February with a down-the-field eighth over an inadequate trip and showed improvement to be beaten just two lengths by Reflektor last time out. David Egan claims a further 3lb off his back and he looks set to score.
