The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Sunday
BANKER
Macaque (2.10 Goodwood)
It looks as if Goodwood's opener is a match race between the two at the head of the racecard, Macaque and Ibn Al Emarat, and the Andrew Balding-trained juvenile looks the one to side with Joshua Bryan claiming a useful 5lb. A recent winner in what was virtually a bit of work (beat one rival after being sent off the 1-16 favourite), he boasts strong form from Sandown the time before and his nearest market rival is unproven on turf.
DARK HORSE
Bless Him (4.30 Goodwood)
On ratings Dutch Connection should be able to win this without breaking sweat, but he hasn't put it all since running to well to finish fifth in the Prix Maurice de Gheest in August last year and could be worth taking on with this improving colt. Unlucky when fifth over course and distance in a first-time hood earlier in the season, he bounced back in fine style under a typical Jamie Spencer ride to win the 29-runner Britannia at Royal Ascot last time out and has been kept fresh for this.
