The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Wednesday afternoon

BANKER

Meep Meep(12.55 Exeter)

Tom Lacey's mare went into my notebook after making an impressive debut in a Chepstow bumper last March before taking fourth in a Grade 2 at Aintree just a month later. Her hurdling exploits haven't been anywhere near as impressive, but she ran creditably on her first two runs in the sphere behind some smart sorts, only to be pulled up on her last two outings. They were tough tasks, though, and she is of much more interest now massively dropped in grade to contest this 0-110 conditional jockeys' handicap. She could be chucked in off her mark of 111, which just allows her to squeak in at the top of the weights, and providing she handles the ground and step up in trip, she should go very close to winning given her record fresh.

EYECATCHER

(3.40 Exeter)

Trainer Victor Dartnall does well at Exeter (47 winners at the track compared to a best of 29 elsewhere) and six-year-old Haldon Hill must have a good chance to enhance that record. A son of Mahler who has taken time to develop, Haldon Hill impressed when winning his bumper on reappearance here last year and although he failed to add to that victory, he wasn't disgraced in three subsequent runs and probably goes best fresh. He returns to the track after 240 days off, in which time he has undergone a wind operation, and should have improved physically and mentally. His mark of 121 could prove lenient.
