Quirky nine-year-old who refused to race on a couple of occasions last year (whipped round at the start) but is now ponied to the start and that seems to have sorted out his starting issues. Finished runner-up on his first two starts this season (penultimate outing behind reopposing Molineaux and now 3lb worse off) but absolutely stuffed seven rivals last time at Leicester on heavy ground. Winning margin doesn't do his performance justice as he was idoling late on and a 5lb rise could prove lenient. Has to reverse the form with Molineaux but this small field may suit him more than that rival.

EYECATCHER

(4.35 Southwell)

Recent winners Light Lily and Never Said Nothing are sure to be fancied for Southwell's concluding mile handicap but they could struggle to beat the unexposed Brodick. The topweight recorded a big career-best performance when fourth in a novice event here last time out and an opening mark of 62 could be on the lenient side. Rhonda Pindar's 3lb claim will help her chance and Karl Burke, who has a 22 per cent strike-rate (41-188, +£150.95 to £1 level stakes) at the track over the last five years, is firing on all cylinders at the moment.
