The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon
EYECATCHER
A one-time winner from eight starts when with former trainer Sir Michael Stoute, Oslo was sold at the horses-in-training sale in August for £37,000 and built on earlier promise when a good second at Chelmsford last week for Mick Appleby, who does exceptionally well with this type. The son of Gleneagles looks well in off his mark of 77, 2lb higher than seven days ago, providing he settles in the early stages. This track may suit him better than Chelmsford and the booking of Tom Marquand is a positive.
DARK HORSE
Prudhomme (3.12 Wincanton)
Nick Williams is overdue a winner after a 257-day barren spell, but that unwanted streak could come to an end when the promising Prudhomme returns to the track in this 1m7½f handicap chase against largely disappointing sorts. Prudhomme didn't end last season the way many would have expected, but his reappearance victory over 2m was encouraging and it could be the case of catching him best when fresh. He didn't appear to stay longer trips after a wind op at the beginning of last year and this looks a nice starting point over fences.
