The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon
EYECATCHER
Satish Seemar's gelding doesn't win too often but his form stacks up well in the context of this race and he should go close to winning from a great draw in stall two. Racing against the rail on the dirt track is a huge plus at Meydan, especially if you're prominent, and it would be surprising if Welford didn't get the run of the race in behind likely pacesetter Firnas. Welford was sent off a 5-2 shot in this contest last year and finished a never-nearer second behind the reopposing Key Bid (not in the same form), but met trouble that day and can hopefully make amends.
EACH-WAY PLAY
This son of Shirocco hasn't got within 24 lengths of winning in four career starts (beaten a total of 140 lengths) but has run in some hot novice hurdles the last twice and is interesting now that he enters handicap company. Rated just 106, Roccowithlove could be open to any amount of improvement and should find this much easier than when up against the likes of Supremely Lucky (rated 137) and Danny Whizzbang (139) off similar weights recently. He wasn't disgraced behind either and shaped as if a drop in trip will suit, which he gets here.
