The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon

BANKER

Puerto Banus(12.15 Lingfield)

Unexposed four-year-old who has shown some promise over varying trips but really caught the eye over this course and distance when last seen at the end of November. He started slowly that day and was held up, but surged through the field late on to take second behind the in-form Roman Spinner. He has been left on the same mark of 69 and the booking of Adam Kirby is a real sign of intent from trainer Ian Williams.

EYECATCHER

Purdey's Gift (2.55 Lingfield)

A good draw in stall two should provide Purdey's Gift with a cracking opportunity to record his second win from just seven starts for trainer Andrew Balding. The son of Camelot has had a rather luckless career on the all-weather so far after. He bumped into the now 105-rated El Misk on his last start in novice company back in April, before being denied a clear run when sent off a short-priced favourite at Kempton after a mid-summer break. He duly got off the mark on his penultimate outing at Wolverhampton over this trip but was again short for room at crucial stages last time. A small field should help with traffic problems and he looks handicapped to win off a mark of 78.
