The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

BANKER

(4.05 Newcastle)

Big son of Dubawi with an impeccable pedigree, Great Esteem showed some promise as a three-year-old with Charlie Appleby in 2019 but wasn't seen on the track for 471 days after his second start, in which time he switched trainers to Archie Watson. His reappearance victory at Kempton can be marked up given he made his own running at a track that generally favours closers and an opening mark of 85 undoubtedly underestimates this big galloper.

EYECATCHER

Danny Kirwan (1.50 Ascot)

Paul Nicholls' string is red-hot right now and although this eight-year-old doesn't appear to be the best handicapped horse in this race, his want for this track and the fact that he still has improvement in him should see Danny Kirwan come to the fore. He passed the visual test when winning over this course and distance in November and it isn't hard to put a line through his latest effort when he didn't stay 3m at a left-handed track in Cheltenham.

DARK HORSE

Domaine De L'Isle (3.00 Ascot)

This 2m5f handicap chase looks to be the seasonal target for Domaine De L'Isle and hopes are high that trainer Sean Curran has him spot on to retain his crown after a neck defeat of Bennys King 12 months ago. He hasn't won in five subsequent outings since that impressive success, but he's able to race off the same mark of 140 as a result and warmed up for a tilt at this prize when fourth in a novice hurdle at Wetherby 11 days ago. First-time blinkers are fitted.
