The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

GOOD THING

(3.25 Musselburgh)

The sky seemed to be the limit for Coolbane Boy after he produced a late flourish to overturn 3-10 favourite Power Of Pause, who has won twice since and is rated 136, in a Thurles bumper in January 2020. He began his hurdling career with a couple of promising efforts in defeat, but struggled over inadequate trips on his final three starts in Ireland before joining Sandy Thomson this autumn. Coolbane Boy failed to beat a rival on his first start for the yard but was actually the best horse in that race. He made a terrible mistake three-out when travelling powerfully and was allowed to finish in his own time. I expect him to make amends off just 120.

EYECATCHER

(12.50 Cheltenham)

The return to Cheltenham (form figures 5551 here) and a big-field handicap should suit Honest Vic, who needs an end-to-end gallop to be seen at his best. The Henry Daly-trained nine-year-old wasn't beaten far in either the 2018 Greatwood or 2020 Coral Cup at this track and caught the eye over trips short of 3m since he was sent chasing this season. This £25,000 race might have always been his target and 4-1 is a fair price despite the fact he's yet to win over fences.
