The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon
BANKER
Talented sprinter who has good gatespeed and will appreciate the drop down to the minimum trip of 5f after misfiring over further. Recorded a couple of wins over 6f around this time last year off marks of 90 and 92 but has only won once since (6f contest, March) and his mark has fallen down to just 77, leaving him extremely well handicapped on his best efforts. Didn't stay 7f on his return in December and missed the kick on his penultimate outing but was much better last time and a repeat would see him win from a plot draw in stall one.
DARK HORSE
Garo De Juilley (3.00 Ascot)
Opened at 33-1 for this, which is ludicrous, and is well worth a punt each-way. Doesn't win very often but has run very well in numerous big handicaps over the last couple of seasons and really caught the eye when flying home to take fourth in a good novice chase last time out. Reverts back to hurdles now off a mark 2lb lower than when he won the Silver Trophy at Chepstow in 2018 and should love the testing conditions.
