Nicky Henderson has won three of the last eight editions of this race, including the last two, and can enhance his record courtesy of Cascova. This six-year-old clearly relishes quick conditions (1221 form figures on ground with good in the description) and fairly bolted up off a 3lb higher mark at Ascot when last seen. He barely jumped a hurdle accurately that day but sauntered clear for an eight-length success and may prefer the likely faster gallop in this big-field handicap.

DARK HORSE

(5.40 Haydock)

Relatively prolific (7-31) for a horse with her rating, Camachess was impressive when she made smooth progress on the bridle to score at Yarmouth last summer off a mark of 70 and hasn't had ideal conditions since. Three of her subsequent starts have come over 5f (too sharp), while her two 6f ventures have been ruined by slow starts around tight-turning all-weather tracks. The return to turf is a plus, while she has dropped down the handicap back to her last winning mark.
