The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon
BANKER
Crimewave (1.30 Lingfield)
Frustrating on the whole (1-16 in career) but has improved since being stepped up to 1m2f and won readily on his penultimate outing, suggesting he was well handicapped off a mark of 69. He was well fancied off a 3lb higher mark 20 days later over this course and distance but wasn't able to find a clear passage throughout and would have gone very close if he found an out. Up another 1lb here but he is seriously capable of getting back to winning ways if granted a clear run.
GOOD THING
Decent performer who is well suited to 3m around Kempton and travelled powerfully before finishing third in this race last year at odds of 20-1. Hasn't got close in three runs since and has undergone a wind op in the meantime, but this represents a drop in class (faced subsequent Grade 1 scorer Riders Onthe Storm last time) and he is able to compete off a 6lb lower mark than 12 months ago. The better the ground, the better he will run.
