The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Monday afternoon

IRISH ANGLE

(3.05 Fairyhouse)

Talented five-year-old who showed that he had plenty of ability when running into smart types Eric Bloodaxe and Favori De Champdou in a couple of bumpers at the start of the year, before getting off the mark at the third attempt at Leopardstown in March. Run For Oscar seems to be improving at a rate of knots and although he will likely make up into a smart hurdler, he seems to have the speed to cope with the 1m4f trip on his Flat debut. The market will be important, so watch to see if he attracts support or drifts, but he has the class to win this maiden.

EYECATCHER

(1.10 Goodwood)

This is a trappy handicap but the vast majority of the eight-strong field are handicapped to the hilt – the only two that aren't appear to be Quench Dolly and Desert Land. The former is undeniably well treated but just can't seem to put it all together, so preference is for Jim Boyle's Desert Land. He looked frustrating (0-10 in his career) before making a winning reappearance at Lingfield last week, where he stayed on strongly in the straight to win by half a length at the line. He remains unexposed for this trainer and on turf, which can bring about further improvement.
