The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Friday afternoon

DARK HORSE

Trecco Bay(12.35 Lingfield)

A daughter of New Approach who enters handicap company for the first time after never featuring in three novice or maiden contests on the all-weather at the end of last year. David Elsworth's filly certainly caught the eye on her first and third starts, though, finishing well from the back of the pack having either completely missed the break or being badly hampered at the start. Trecco Bay lost virtually all chance when shuffled back to last after 50 yards on her first attempt at 7f and at this track, got stuck in a pocket down the back and was forced wide off the final bend. However, she stayed on takingly to get seventh at the line (front five cleared away) and this step up in trip looks in her favour, as does a lenient opening mark of just 57.

IRISH ANGLE

(3.00 Thurles)

Unexposed six-year-old who is winless in eight starts but has come in for strong market support on his last two runs and is surely better than his finishing positions suggest. Foxy Jacks, who boasts a couple of useful pieces of form in maiden hurdles, ran a joint career-best on his first outing in a handicap when last seen, only being beaten three-and-a-quarter-lengths despite making a few errors on the way. The way he finished that day suggests this big step up in trip will suit and the fact he drops back into novice company entices me to play him at around 5-1.
