The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on day three of Cheltenham

EACH-WAY PLAY

Robin Des Foret (4.10 Cheltenham)

Prolific winner with nine victories from 24 starts, but has come up short in ultra competitive handicaps on his most recent outings off marks in the high 140s. My feeling is that that has been because he hasn't been seeing out the trip and struggled with his breathing, rather than him being in the grip of the handicapper, and wind surgery since his latest outing and a drop back to 2m4½f could be the adjustments needed to see him enter the winner's enclosure again. He has loomed up powerfully on his last two outings and not finished the race out, but a fast early pace to chase here will be perfect for him to creep into the contest on the bridle.

DARK HORSE

Dream Berry (2.10 Cheltenham)

Likely third string for owner JP McManus, which will mean he goes off a nice price, but has solid claims and is well worth a second look at around 25-1. I placed my bet on this Jonjo O'Neill-trained handicapper back in December at double that price when he finished second at Sandown behind young improver Go Whatever having given him 17lb. He travelled brilliantly throughout that race and just failed to catch his game rival, albeit finishing 13 lengths clear of the third, who has won since. He has gone up 2lb for that, which looks very fair, and gets a nice racing weight of 10st 12lb here, as well as the assistance of Jonjo O'Neill jnr. He ran well when seventh off a 5lb higher mark in the Martin Pipe in 2018 and this has long been the plan.
