The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips for Tuesday's French action

BANKER

Port Guillaume (2.00 Saint-Cloud)

A €55,000 yearling purchase, Jean-Claude Rouget looks to have a bargain on his hands in Port Guillaume, who has won both his career starts to date and looks to boast a supreme engine. His debut maiden success at Cagnes-sur-Mer has worked out well with three of his rivals winning since and he only required hands-and-heels riding to run out a ready winner when upped in grade last time. He has only been off the track for two months, so has a fitness edge on some of these, and can continue his upward trajectory.

DARK HORSE

Le Gastronome(5.10 Marseille Pont-de-Vivaux)

Despite being winless in four outings, Le Gastronome has a steadily improving profile and should be favoured by the way this race will pan out on his handicap debut. Trainer Frederic Rossi tried him over longer distances early in his career but he has been much better over this 7½f trip the last twice and his course-and-distance second looks pretty strong form. He could easily be well treated on his first start in handicap company.
