Gary Moore-trained five-year-old who showed little in novice hurdles and bumpers on his first five starts, but caught the eye on handicap debut when third at Lingfield after racing keenly throughout the early portion of the contest. He pulled hard once again when last seen off the same mark, but proved he was miles ahead of the handicapper with an easy success. Zhiguli is able to run off just 4lb higher here given Niall Houlihan's claim and the fact he's 2lb well-in under a penalty, and he looks well capable of following up.
