Paul Nicholls has a 35 per cent strike-rate (14-40) in the last two weeks and has two good chances to add to that record at Market Rasen today with Starsky rating the best value bet. A six-race maiden, Starsky has taken some time to understand his job but has been slowly improving over hurdles this year and his latest third marked a significant career-best effort. Stepped up to 2m3f for the first time at Taunton at the end of December, Starsky travelled powerfully in behind the pacesetters and stuck on pluckily to finish third behind subsequent winner Lightly Squeeze and Twenty Twenty, who has finished second to Sermando off a 1lb higher mark since. Sermando is the favourite for this race but the extra furlong and a half as well as an 8lb weight allowance should mean Starsky comes out on top.
