The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tip for Friday's Vichy card
BANKER
On initial inspection there looks to be two bankers across the French cards – Hell Boy (1.07 Dieppe), whose price will be too short to tip now that stablemate Edgeoy is a non-runner, and Merry Picnic. This three-year-old, who will carry topweight of 9st 8lb, was a model of consistency before his latest tenth-placed finish on the all-weather at Chantilly. However, he endured a rough trip that day and was hampered on a couple of occasions, as well as being badly bumped when making his challenge, so you can put a line through that effort. His previous victory was impressive and he had chief market rival Dutch Chop five lengths behind him. There is no reason that form should be reversed (Merry Picnic 4lb better off) and Ioritz Mendizibal's mount looks likely to get back to winning ways from stall two.
