Betting in bumpers isn't usually my cup of tea, but this Listed event features some of the most promising types in the sphere. Paul Nicholls has a strong hand with first-time-out winners Henri The Second and Hugos New Horse, but I think 8-1 underestimates Authorised Speed, who went straight into my tracker after finishing second on debut at Market Rasen. He was undoubtedly the best horse in that race as he had to be snatched up as the pace quickened, before losing all momentum when he was squeezed against the rail. Clearly highly regarded by connections, Authorised Speed looks the value play.
