The ground is going to be seriously cut up at the Sussex venue on the penultimate day of the festival and Withernsea looks the exact type to strike for Richard Fahey in the Betfred Mile. Scarlet Dragon(1.50 Goodwood)

With favourites Frontiersman and Poet's Word below form the only times they have encountered an easy surface, this could be ripe for an upset. Scarlet Dragon doesn't seem ground dependent, is much better than he's been able to show in two starts this campaign and will relish a return to 1m4f for the first time this season. (Paul Kealy)

Can make it third time lucky after a pair of promising performances in maidens at the Curragh and Fairyhouse. The trip, track and ground ought to be right up her street and she is strongly fancied to get off the mark.
