The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' three horseracing tips on Boxing Day

BANKER

Tokay Dokey (1.05 Market Rasen)

Dan Skelton-trained seven-year-old who won his first three career starts in 2018 before falling in the 2019 Grade 2 Dovecote Novices' Hurdle at Kempton. He was not sighted for 984 days until last month when he was tenderly handled to finish ninth of 13 in a novice handicap at Chepstow. Expected to come on for the return dropped 4lb, Tokay Dokey took an almighty leap forward on his next outing at Warwick this month when a ten-length second to Brave Seasca, who has scored off a 7lb higher mark in good style since. Tokay Dokey had five lengths in hand from the third at Warwick and has been left on the same mark of 120. He will be incredibly tough to beat in this Market Rasen contest.

IRISH ANGLE

Hamundarson (1.45 Leopardstown)

This talented but frustrating sort lost his first eight races in bumpers and novice hurdles but was never sent off a shorter price than 11-2 in any of those races. The Gordon Elliott-trained runner was expected to find one too good again on his seasonal return in a 2m Cork maiden hurdle but belatedly got his head in front from the highly rated Willie Mullins-trained Minella Cocooner, who was sent off a 30-100 favourite. Minella Cocooner rubber-stamped the form by landing a Navan novice hurdle by six and a half lengths on his next outing and Hamundarson has been granted an opening mark of 125 for his handicap debut at Leopardstown. I think the assessor could have been harsher and Niall Moore takes 7lb off his back. It is a competitive 28-runner race and I will likely have an additional bet on Hamundarson's stablemate The Greek, who would have finished a clear second to the potentially top-class Mighty Potter two starts back but for falling two out. He is another interesting handicap debutant.

GOOD THING

Silver Hallmark (2.10 Wetherby)

I'm looking to recoup previous ante-post losses on Silver Hallmark in the Rowland Meyrick. The ground was deemed to lively for this talented sort in the Racing Post Gold Cup and connections decided to withdraw him. However, there will be no such worries with conditions at Wetherby as he will get his favoured soft ground and this Grade 2-winning chaser is surely well handicapped off 145. His Colin Parker fourth on his comeback at Carlisle was highly encouraging considering how badly treated he was by the conditions of the race. He was giving 6lb to subsequent Ladbrokes Trophy second Fiddlerontheroof and 6lb to the 160-rated Espoir De Romay. The handicapper has left Silver Hallmark on the same rating and he can claim this lucrative prize before stepping up in grade.
