The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tip at Sandown on Friday
BANKER
Pileon (3.35 Sandown)
Philip Hobbs-trained seven-year-old who went off the boil last season but showed much more zest when fourth on his return in another Pertemps qualifier at Aintree last time. The form looks hot with the third, Remastered, surely set to go close in the Ladbrokes Trophy next time but for falling four out. There was 20 lengths back to the fifth and Pileon has generously been dropped 1lb by the handicapper for that encouraging comeback. He looks well treated off 7lb lower than when he finished a short-head second to subsequent Grade 2 winner Indefatigable in the 2020 Martin Pipe. If the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival is the long-term target Pileon will need to climb up the ratings to ensure his position in the field and victory here would help on that regard.
