The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' free horse racing tip on Sunday afternoon
DARK HORSE
Kinross (3.25 Deauville)
Nothing particularly catches my eye in Ireland so I'll tackle the French action at Deauville. I backed Kinross for the Prix Jean Prat on Friday night at 20-1 each-way, a price I'm shocked isn't substantially shorter. The son of Kingman produced one of the outstanding maiden performances of last season with an eight-length romp in the autumn at Newmarket over 7f. Kinross had gifted handicapper Finest Sound and Irish 2,000 Guineas second Vatican City well beaten that day before he was sent off 13-8 favourite for the Vertem Futurity Trophy over a mile. Unsurprisingly that assignment proved too much too soon and he shaped as if a drop back in trip would be beneficial. He reverts to 7f here after running a fair race in the 2,000 Guineas and I expect him to strip fitter for that outing. Pinatubo will obviously be hard to beat but he clearly isn't bombproof. Having only raced three times, Kinross is by some way the least exposed runner in this field and he remains a colt of considerable promise over this intermediate trip.
