It was around this time last year that Bobo Mac posted a big effort to finish sixth in the Welsh Grand National in testing conditions over 3m6½f, and he could be overpriced for another proper stamina test at Haydock on Thursday. Conditions are expected to be testing for the Last Fling Handicap Chase over 3m4½f and the Tom Symonds-trained veteran should be on the premises if bouncing back to form. He's been given a chance by the handicapper to pick up a race this season, now down to 126 - his lowest chase mark in two years and 9lb lower than his Chepstow effort last season. Representing a trainer who sent out just three runners over the festive period but hit the target with one of them, Bobo Mac needs to improve on his recent form but has seemingly has enough in his favour to make him a live player.
