The Punt Daily: Maddy Playle with two to follow on Saturday

BANKER

Admiral Barratry (1.50 Haydock)

This five-year-old son of Soldier Of Fortune has been in my tracker since last December when he finished second to Lostintranslation – now rated 149 – in a Newbury maiden hurdle. Behind him? The very smart Simply The Betts and subsequent Aintree Grade 1 scorer Black Op, who is now rated 152. Admiral Barratry races off just 133 here after the handicapper dropped him 1lb for finishing second on his reappearance. I was initially disappointed with that effort but he was too keen and didn't look comfortable on the track. He still appears extremely well-handicapped and I'm willing to give him another chance.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Folsom Blue (2.25 Haydock)

Whenever Gordon Elliott brings a horse over to Britain it is wise to take note. Folsom Blue was a desperately unlucky fourth in the Irish Grand National on his penultimate start – he finished fifth in the 2014 renewal and fourth in the 2016 edition – and is rated a whopping 17lb lower over hurdles. He's 4lb lower than when fourth behind subsequent Coral Cup second Topofthegame in a handicap hurdle at Sandown in February and ran well on good ground in his bumper days. An extreme test of stamina will suit.
