BANKER

Ballyoisin (7.10 Killarney)

Shaneshill has been an admirable campaigner over the years and brings some truly top-class form to the table here but hasn't always convinced over fences and I'm taking him on with Enda Bolger's Ballyoisin. Taking into account Donie McInerney's 7lb claim, he gave Doctor Phoenix 6lb and a three and three-quarter length beating at Cork in October. Doctor Phoenix subsequently improved 19lb, winning three races and giving Un De Sceaux a scare before falling at Fairyhouse. Following that effort, Ballyoisin finished just half a length behind Disko in a Grade 2 at Down Royal, beating Ball D'Arc, A Toi Phil and Anibale Fly in the process. He warmed up for this with a tidy effort in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown and, with ground to suit, JP McManus's highly-touted gelding can get his chasing career back on track.

DARK HORSE

Exitas (4.50 Kempton)

Makes his first start back from a break having won three chases – including a very good Listed chase at Ascot – during a busy campaign. He returns here over hurdles, over which he is rated a whopping 11lb inferior. That may be because Phil Middleton confessed he was difficult to get right earlier on in his career, but he's clearly been thriving lately and was fourth to Aintree winners Terrefort (Grade 1 Milmay Novices' Chase) and Bentelimar (Red Rum Handicap Chase) when last seen. Jockey Tabatha Worsley takes off a further 7lb, so it's hard to imagine him not figuring in the finish.
