BANKER

Coolanly (4.30 Chepstow)

Put up by the trainer as one to follow, point-to-point winner Coolanly looks to have an excellent chance of bolstering Fergal O'Brien's supreme record in bumpers. Coolanly is a brother to useful pair Bronco Billy and Allez Cool, and O'Brien's recent victories with Herecomestheboom and Grageelagh Girl – who was first past the post before being demoted at Aintree – shows he can get the best out of ex pointers who didn't cost the world. He is also one from four (25 per cent) at Chepstow this season.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Looksnowtlikebrian (1.45 Chepstow)

Tim Vaughan's Cheltenham hoodoo was finally laid to rest on Friday with Master Dancer's emphatic win and I think Looksnowtlikebrian can be another to flourish under Richard Johnson. A quirky customer, his best performance came at this track last season where he motored away from his rivals and shaped like a real stayer and his next run behind Behind Time at Cheltenham was very respectful indeed. This trip should bring out the best in him and a mark of 114 could underestimate his chances on chasing debut.

EYECATCHER

Dostal Phil(12.55 Bangor)

Phillip Hobbs and JP McManus enjoyed great success with youngster Defi Du Seuil last season and, if reputation is anything to go by, Dostal Phil will be matching him before long. Zalvados sets a very decent standard and Turtle Wars also looks a promising type, so this may not be a cakewalk, but Dostal Phil was bought by McManus for €295,000 after winning in France and Hobbs has said he has been schooling well at home, and he looks potentially top, top class.
