The Punt Acca: Owen Goulding's three horse racing tips on Wednesday

Shaara(3.20 Yarmouth)

A debut winner at Yarmouth last October, she made her reappearance in a Newbury Group 3, where she found things happening too soon. Two subsequent starts have yielded wins at Haydock and Nottingham, latterly on handicap debut by a comfortable three and a quarter lengths. It was also her first start over the 1m2f distance and she saw it out powerfully, suggesting she had plenty more to offer. This looks like the perfect time for John and Thady Gosden to send her back into Group company.

Bayside Boy(3.35 Sandown)

The incoming rain will be music to Roger Varian's ears and this looks an ideal opportunity for his three-year-old. Placed in a pair of Group 1s as a juvenile, there has been little to shout about in three runs this season, latterly when fourth in a Glorious Goodwood Group 3. This will be the first time he has had his ground, however, and the in-form William Buick takes over at a time where Varian's string are flying along.

Solo Saxophone(4.15 Kelso)

Trained by Alex Hales, this eight-year-old has been rejuvenated by a return to hurdling, winning both his starts over hurdles since joining the stable. Latterly, he was well in command when his only rival fell at Worcester, and a 3lb rise for that performance is more than fair. An extra furlong will not be an issue and although a lack of rain is a small worry, he has excellent claims of the hat-trick.
