Stage Star(2.05 Warwick)

There is no chasing form to go off in this novice event but Stage Star, who was a Grade 1 winner over hurdles, looks sure to improve for a fence. He lost his way towards the end of his novice hurdling career, but he has undergone wind surgery and will be totally fine on the ground. He will perhaps improve for the experience, but even slightly below his best might be enough here.

Opening Bid(2.40 Warwick)

Winner of this race twelve months ago, Opening Bid is back for more off a 9lb lower rating. He had the ideal preparation for this when second over course and distance last time and with his ideal ground forecast, he is very difficult to look past for trainer Chris Down.

Allemande (3.35 Redcar)

After showing ability in three opening runs, marathon handicaps should bring out the best in Allemande. She did not look in love with the track or trip at Ripon last time so it was a testament to her ability that she finished second. An opening mark of 73 looks likely to underestimate her and with an extra two furlongs in mind, she can get off the mark.
